Definition of Roles

FIBI Portal Administrator: is responsible for moderating (i.e., publishing, removing, moving, or denying access to) the all material at FIBI Portal. This role also holds the right to create, remove, or suspend other users accounts. This role is henceforth referred to simply as Administrator;

Registered Users: may participate of discussions at the “Forum” section of the portal. To register one should access the link “Register” available at the top menu. To became a Registered User one must fill all the mandatory fields in the registration form and confirm their registration after receiving a link at a valid email address. This role is henceforth referred to simply as Registered;

Collaborator Researchers: are grant with the ability to publish content under the specific section of a given project assigned by the Administrator. New content published under the project specific section will also figure under the “News” section. Registered users may ask to become Collaborator Researchers of the FIBI Portal through the link “Join in a Project as a Collaborator” in the top menu. The justification informed will be considered by the Administrator when deciding whether to accept or not a Collaborator Researcher application. This role is henceforth referred to simply as Collaborator.

Rights and Responsibilities

It is strictly forbidden for both Registered and Collaborator users to:

• Advertise or offer to sell any goods or services for any commercial purpose;
• Contribute any text or other material that infringes the intellectual property rights of others;
• Publish inappropriate, profane, defamatory, obscene, or indecent content.

FIBI Portal, through its Administrator, reserves the right to:

• Restrict, suspend, or terminate the access of any user to all or any part of the FIBI Portal if they are in breach of these Terms of Use;
• Refuse, moderate, move, or remove any material a user publishes to FIBI Portal if it breaches these Terms of Use, whereas the ascertainment of which is to fall under the Administrator’s discretion.

Privacy

All content once transmitted by Registered or Collaborator users will be made publicly available to any visitor of the FIBI Portal.

Personal information of Registered and Collaborator users (i.e., email address) will not be disclosed to third party entities or individuals without the user's consent.

The Administrator may contact any user through the email address registered in the portal at anytime to address issues related to the content or usage of the portal.

Formatting Content

All content published by Collaborators and Registered users should respect to the following formatting guidelines:

• Avoid using ALL UPPERCASE LETTERS, specially in title of publications;
• Avoid using colors which are not aligned with the portal template;
• Recommended colors are:
• Light Blue: #1AA8FB
• Dark Blue: #134E8B
• Red: #841a1c
• Grey: #5b5b5b
• We encourage the use heading CSS styles (h1, h2, etc.) already defined in the portal stylesheet and available from the WYSIWYG editor;
• Highlight only small portions of the published content with bold, italic, underline, or colored text;
• Avoid using too large fonts. No text should be larger than 16px;
• Avoid using too big images that overflow the portal boundaries.

Fail to abide to any of the aforementioned guidelines may incur in removal of the content and for recurring users the denial of access for future publications.
